Background & Education

Jayme has sewn her own apparel since she was a kid, including prom dresses!  In fact, her high school art teacher was disappointed that she chose engineering over fashion design! As an artist and Professional Civil Engineer, Jayme combines art and geometry to create eye-catching competition suits that proportion and flatter all physiques.

In 2015 Jayme pursued formal training in drafting and construction methods for knitwear, specifically with the intention of creating her own fitness apparel line.  She invested hundred of hours to learning her craft, and focused her efforts on competition swimwear: her first clients were herself and her husband!  As her client base grows, Jayme continues to improve upon her fitting, drafting and construction techniques to provide the best possible fit and quality.  She regularly works with fellow swimwear and competition suit designers to bounce ideas around, offer advice, and learn from those in the industry both across the country and around the world.

Quality

Szizzle Designs competition suits are high quality, and it’s not just something we say: we can prove it.  Our construction techniques provide strong, comfortable, and aesthetic seams.  Our materials have been meticulously sourced to provide strength, quality, value and longevity. We hand-sew finishing touches and ensure your suit is packaged for protection.  Compare our suits to the best on the market: you’ll see why we take pride in our product!

Our Process

1. Pattern Drafting

Based on your measurements and photos, we’ll draft a custom pattern for your suit. We consider your cup size, breast type and shape, body proportions, rise, hip & waist circumference, and any other information necessary to ensure you’re covered and comfortable.

2. Base Suit Construction

Our suits are made with a variety of construction techniques.

• Industry-standard serged seams and knit elastic for maximum stretch and strength

• Enclosed crotch seams for comfort

• Industry standard two-row coverstitching on non-elasticized edges and fitness apparel

• Double-lined top cups for modesty and a pocket for size enhancement

• Lined bottoms for modesty and moisture protection

• Elasticized edges on our competition suits for durability and stretch

• Available trimmed edges – which or without elastic - for aesthetics

Our core suit materials have been sourced from suppliers in the northeast. Our priority has always been finding the best quality materials, not the cheapest. You can rest assured that your suit will be constructed of durable, beautiful materials and maintain it’s value.

Our fabrics are a comfortable four-way stretch spandex blend purchased from our suppliers in NYC. We also have the option to procure specific fabric designs or design custom fabric. Instead of a thin lining fabric, we line our competition suits with black or tan lycra fabric (80% Nylon / 20% Spandex).

We use Preciosa crystals in our connectors and for our rhinestones. Preciosa is a Czech-based company that manufactures and supplies beautiful crystals directly to our supplier in NYC. They offer a broad color and finish range, and provide consistent, clear color that sparkles! Our connectors are the best quality in the industry: the metal blend is strong, moisture resistant when properly cleaned (though they are not meant to be submerged!), and contain Preciosa crystals.

Your hip connectors include a clasp or hook which allow the bottoms to fully-open. This protects the connector and your tan, as you won’t have to force the bottoms up over your glutes to dress/undress.

Our figure-style bikini bottoms come standard with - what one of our first clients has lovingly named - “Anti-Wedgie Technology.” This means you won’t need glue or tape to keep your suit in place!

3. Second Fitting

You’ll be mailed your base suit for fit approval prior to stoning. It will be sent in protective packaging via insured USPS Priority Mail. Most clients receive their package in two (2) business days.

Please make sure to take pictures of yourself in the base suit and send them to us! We need to see the front and back view at a minimum to double-check the fit. Use the provided safety pins to adjust how tight you’d like your straps and/or hips.

4. Bling

Once we receive your base suit back, and after we make any needed adjustments, we’ll rhinestone it! We hand-set and glue every Preciosa rhinestone using a flexible adhesive that is one of the strongest on the market.

5. Photos

We’ll send you the photos and video to let you know it’s ready for pick-up or delivery!

6. Delivery

Once your suit is paid in full, your suit will be ready for pick-up or mailing. We protect your finished suit in a hard, zip-around case that you can use for storage until your big day!

7. Service

Should anything happen to your new suit before your competition, please let us know ASAP! We’ll do our best to arrange for repair or replacement so you’re not left worrying before your big day.
